Everything you need to know about shipping to and from Indonesia.
General
Air freight is the shipping of goods via an air carrier. Your cargo is picked up, processed at Soekarno-Hatta Cargo Terminal (CGK), loaded onto a commercial or charter aircraft, and delivered to its destination. PT Ambara Artha Globaltrans handles every step including documentation, customs clearance, and last-mile delivery.
We are based at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) Cargo Terminal in Jakarta, Indonesia — the largest air cargo hub in the country. This gives us direct access to airline cargo facilities for faster processing.
We serve 52+ countries worldwide, with strong expertise in routes between Indonesia and Singapore, UAE, Hong Kong, USA, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Europe. Our network covers both import and export operations.
We operate 24/7. For urgent shipments, contact us via WhatsApp at +62 821-2545-2800 or email cs@ambaraartha.com. Our operations team will respond within 30 minutes for urgent requests.
Shipping Process
Start by requesting a quote on our website. Once approved, our team will coordinate pickup, documentation, and airport processing. You'll receive a tracking number to monitor your shipment in real-time.
Transit times vary by destination: Singapore (1 day), UAE/Middle East (2-3 days), Europe (3-5 days), USA (5-7 days), Australia (1-2 days). These are flight times; customs clearance at destination may add 1-2 business days.
Standard export documents include: Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Air Waybill (AWB), and PEB (Pemberitahuan Ekspor Barang / Export Declaration). Additional documents may be required depending on commodity type — our team will guide you through the requirements.
Yes. We handle perishable goods (fresh produce, seafood, pharmaceuticals) with temperature-controlled handling, and dangerous goods (DG) in compliance with IATA DGR regulations. Special handling fees and documentation apply for both categories.
Customs & Regulations
PPJK (Pengusaha Pengurusan Jasa Kepabeanan) is an official Indonesian Customs Clearance Agent license issued by DJBC (Directorate General of Customs and Excise). Having a licensed PPJK means we can legally process customs declarations on your behalf, ensuring compliance and faster clearance.
Prohibited items include: narcotics, weapons, counterfeit goods, protected wildlife (CITES), and items banned by Indonesian law. Restricted items (requiring special permits) include: food products, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and electronics. Contact us to verify your specific commodity.
Yes. Import duties into Indonesia are based on HS Code, CIF value, and commodity type. Rates vary from 0% to 40%+ depending on the goods. Our team will calculate estimated duties during the quoting process and guide you through PIB (Import Declaration) filing.
International Partners
Yes. We provide Undername Import/Export services. This means we act as the Importer of Record (IOR) using our licenses to clear your goods, allowing you to ship to Indonesia even if you don't have a local legal entity.
Absolutely. We specialize in DDP solutions where we handle all freight, Indonesian customs duties, and local taxes. Your consignee receives the goods without having to deal with any payment or paperwork.
The main challenges are Lartas (Restricted Items) and fluctuating customs valuation. Our team provides pre-shipment consultation to ensure all permits (BPOM, SNI, etc.) are ready, preventing costly storage fees or re-exports.
Yes. Our entire international operations team is fluent in English. We provide clear, transparent communication and step-by-step guidance through the Indonesian logistics landscape.
Pricing
Chargeable weight is the higher of actual weight (kg) vs volumetric weight. Volumetric weight = (Length × Width × Height in cm) ÷ 6000. For example, a 100×100×100 cm box = 166.67 kg volumetric. If actual weight is 50 kg, you're charged for 166.67 kg.
Key factors: chargeable weight, origin/destination route, commodity type (general, perishable, DG), service level (standard vs express), fuel surcharges, security surcharges, and handling fees. We provide transparent all-inclusive quotes with no hidden costs.
No. Our quotes are transparent and itemized. We clearly list all charges including freight, fuel surcharge, security fee, customs clearance, and handling. Any additional charges (e.g. oversize cargo, special handling) are communicated upfront before you confirm.
